Duralee expands Suburban Fabrics

Bay Shore, N.Y. – Decorative fabrics supplier Duralee is expanding its Suburban Fabrics brand, which serves the retailing and manufacturing distribution channels.
Erin Murphy has been retained as a design consultant; Tom Siblo has joined the division as national sales manager. Until last year Murphy was with The Robert Allen Group in product development. Siblo, with 30 years experience in the converting segment of the decorative fabric market, most recently was with P/Kaufmann.
Duralee will open a showroom at 295 Fifth Avenue by the end of the summer for Suburban, and will launch its revamped line no later than the December Showtime in High Point, N.C., said Lee Silberman, senior vp. “The initial program will be an eclectic, coordinated prints and wovens story,” he explained.
When the Suburban brand was introduced in the late 1990s, it was a prints-only collection, Silberman related. In its expansion it will offer all levels of fabrics from sheers to upholstery weights and multi-purpose constructions, he said.
