Jon Lannertone joins Modus as sales manager

Will deveop strategies for company's warehouse, container business

LOS ANGELES — Jon Lannertone has joined case goods manufacturer Modus Furniture International as national sales manager, a position that had been vacant for some time.

Lannertone, a 25-year industry veteran, previously was vice president of sales and marketing at Man Wah Holdings, a Chinese furniture manufacturer. Earlier he spent several years as a vice president at Powell.Lannertone, who reports to J. Jewett, general manager, will structure the company's existing sales force and create additional territories. He also will monitor sales and develop selling strategies for the company's warehouse and container business. "I'll target major accounts, including national, regional and strong independent accounts throughout the U.S., Canada and Mexico," Lannertone said. "We will also continue to work in the international arena, as we currently do business worldwide. I travel extensively to spot trends and opportunities as they pertain to our strengths."He said the company owns a plant in Indonesia and has "the ability to cut out the middle man. We can develop product for market and create real value for retailers.""We are extremely excited to have Jon Lannertone on board," said Jewett. "He offers a new energy and direction to Modus as we carve out our path in this industry."
