Shteinberg joins Progressive Business Media
December 17, 2013-- Furniture Today,
HIGH POINT — Emil Shteinberg has joined Progressive Business Media, parent company of Furniture/Today and its sister publications, as vice president of conferences and events.
He will work alongside Connie Lineberry, executive vice president of brand creative services, and the sales and editorial teams to create and develop new events for the industries the publications serve.
Shteinberg was most recently a divisional director of IQPC, a global company that produces more than 1,000 high quality events annually. In his role at IQPC New York City, he was responsible for a portfolio of 40 events per year, including 12 new conferences for the mining and construction industries.
He also led projects with teams supporting other industry sectors including finance, legal, oil and gas, and pharmaceuticals. Before heading the New York division, he was division for IQPC London and IQPC Sydney, in his home country of Australia.
Matt Slaine, president of FT Media Holdings, parent company of Progressive Business Media, said he was excited to have Shteinberg join the senior leadership team at Progressive Business Media.
"Since acquiring these brands this past July, one of my goals has been to continue to deliver our excellent content and industry knowledge in various channels. One consistent theme I heard across industry was a true need for the industry professionals to come together much more often to tackle issues facing retailers, manufacturers, and industry service providers," Slaine said.
"We often write and report on these issues but solutions come to life when people are given the chance to network, ask questions, and understand best practices from others facing the same challenges. Given all of the changes in the industry landscape, Emil will give all of us the opportunity to learn from each other and develop new business relationships."
Shteinberg will spend time in the New York and North Carolina offices of Progressive Business Media.
Heather Grant Thompson, Furniture/Today's conference and event manager, will report to Shteinberg.
