United Furniture to expand trailer storage yard

LEXINGTON, N.C. — Upholstery producer United Furniture Inds. will expand a trailer storage yard adjacent to its main facility here, The (Lexington, N.C.) Dispatch reported.
According to the report, the City of Lexington and the Davidson County government acquired property for the expansion this past month for $200,000. The governments will lease the land to United for 10 years. If the company meets certain investment and job retention requirements, the local governments will award incentive grants to cover the lease payments, the report said.
United also plans to invest at least $250,000 for improvements to the site.
United spokesman Bob Cottam told the newspaper that the company has run out of space for trailer storage.
