Wednesday, 30 January 2013 - Furniture Today's Ray Allegrezza interviews Steve Silver, president of occasional and casual dining importer Steve Silver Co., at the Las Vegas Market. Silver talks about the company's new Vegas showroom and the positive effects of consumer testing for their new products. Ray also spoke with Sean Lowe, better known as TV's The Bachelor, who is friends with the Silver family and is president of The Factory Girl, a custom furniture and accessories company.
Tuesday, 29 January 2013 - Furniture Today's Ray Allegrezza interviews Rick Anthony, director of sales for the bedding products division at Hickory Springs, about how the company is helping retailers and suppliers sell more product by emphasizing to the consumer the benefits of a good night's sleep. Anthony said one of the new ways the company can provide more comfort in its products is through the use of microcoils. The microcoils allow mattress manufacturers to put a layer of coils in the cushioning material, closer to the sleep surface than other innerspring units, which helps eliminate body impressions.

Ray spoke with Andrew Bandremer, senior vice president of Twin-Star, who said he expects the Market to be upbeat this year with attendees poised to buy. "People are willing to shop for new and unique products," he explained.

She said there there is a trend toward "liveable luxury," which combines beautiful design with comfort that we can live in. In furniture, Monica added, there is also more of an emphasis on smaller scale pieces for singles living alone. Concerning color, she said emerald, Pantone's color of the year, is influencing a lot of other jewel tone accessories.
Monday- 28 January 2013 - Furniture Today's Senior Retail Editor Clint Engel talks to James Riddle, CEO of Lifestyle Enterprise, about Lifestyle's second Las Vegas Forbidden City Furniture Show. The event was held in the Riviera Hotel this past weekend (Jan. 25-27) before the Las Vegas Market's official opening. Clint also talks to Sam Levitz, of Sam Levitz Furniture, about the value of attending the event.
