Groovystuff takes second High Point showroom

HIGH POINT — Reclaimed teak furniture specialist Groovystuff will occupy a second showroom at the Oct. 13-18 High Point Market.
The company said it has leased about 1,300 square feet in space 5L of the C&D Building. This space is in addition to its primary space, G-1025 in the Suites at Market Square, thus allowing the company to showcase more new and existing items in its line.
"We listened to what is most important to our buyers at market," said Chris Bruning, who founded the company in 1998 with the goal of creating innovative and design-driven products with a sustainable materials story. "The upscale clientele who shop the C&D Building in High Point will give us an audience with a distinguished class of purchasers and a broader reach for our brand."
Becky Minton, director of leasing for the C&D building, called Groovystuff a "fantastic addition to our stellar line-up of premiere home furnishings and accessories exhibitors that call C&D home."
In addition to new product, the company said it has launched programs and promotions aimed at making it easier and more affordable for dealers to shop the line. For example, the company said, it has renegotiated with its shipping company to allow buyers to purchase more product on 20-foot containers yet still receive the same discounts they would with a 40-foot container.
Bruning said the company also has strengthened its ties with Lyon Credit Service to help dealers more easily finance their purchases with Groovystuff.
"These are the meat and potatoes programs that every manufacturer should be examining for its customer base to make business happen and help us all re-stimulate the economy," he said. "Just offering the standard product and promotions is not what it takes given this new climate. Those manufacturers who are aggressive and responsive enough to adapt to the needs of the customer with products to meet this specific demographic are the ones who will survive."
