Texas retailer John B. Craig dies at 75

Operated Craig Furniture, Manly's Furniture

LONGVIEW, Texas — John B. Craig, owner and operator of furniture retailers Craig Furniture and Manly's Furniture, has died at age 75.

A Navy veteran, Craig founded Craig Furniture in Marshall, Texas, in 1972. He later purchased Manly's Furniture in Longview in 1984. He semi-retired in 2005.

Craig was a charter member and past president of the Texas Finance Association and a charter board member of Jefferson National Bank. When not operating his stores, Craig was an active cattle rancher and member of the Harrison County Cattleman's Assn.

Craig's survivors include his wife, a daughter, a son, five brothers and one sister. Craig's wife, daughter, son and son-in-law are involved in the operation of Craig Furniture and Manly's Furniture.
