By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, October 20, 2006
Grand Rapids, Mich. — Lynn Chipperfield, senior vice president and chief administrative officer for Furniture Brands International, is on the program for the upcoming Business and Institutional Furniture Manufacturers Assn. International.
Other featured speakers at the event, set for Feb. 8–9 in San Antonio, are syndicated columnist and humorist Dave Barry; John Hoke, vice president of global footwear design for Nike; and Ed Friendrichs, former president and CEO of Gensler Architecture.
In addition to the general session speakers, the conference will have breakout sessions covering such topics as the influence of corporate real estate executives as purchase decision makers, the future of the home office furniture dealer, supplier diversity programs, sustainability assessment tools, and furniture emissions test standards.
"With this year's program we've designed a more compressed yet power-packed agenda to stimulate thinking while digging deeper than ever into the issues of interest and concern to the industry," said Brian Walker, president and CEO of manufacturer Herman Miller and BIFMA's current board president.
The conference is designed for furniture manufacturers and industry suppliers. For information, contact BIFMA at (616) 285-3963 or see the Web site at www.bifma.org.
