JCPenney to add Joe Boxer

PLANO, TX -The brightly colored, smiley face of Joe Boxer will now adorn the walls of JCPenney stores.
Joe Boxer and the department store chain, based here, announced the introduction of the youthful line to some 400 JCPenney stores nationwide.
A full line of novelty-driven and fun bedding and bath accessories will be offered including comforter sets, sheet sets and decorative pillows as well as shower curtains, shower mats, toilet seats, soap/lotion pumps, wastepaper baskets and tissue boxes for the bathroom.
"JCPenney has been a great partner and has given the Joe Boxer line its full support," said Colette Sipperly, vp of public relations and marketing for the San Francisco-based Joe Boxer, about the decision by the retailer to pick up the line. "Everyone here is extremely pleased."
"Read Between the Lines" and "Established When We Had Time" will be the patterns featured in approximately 385 stores as well as online at jcpenney.com and in the retailer's spring 2001 catalog. Price points, according to a statement released by JCPenney, will range from $11.99 for a nightlight to $139.99 for a queen comforter set.
Sipperly said that Read Between the Lines is signature Joe Boxer, using black, white and yellow as well as Joe Boxer's playful, smiley-faced character, Licky. When We Had Time is a patchwork plaid mixed with heather tones with a vintage feel and "is more of a dorm look," she added.
Depending upon the success of the introduction, plans are in the works for Penney to pick up more of the line, Sipperly said.
