DES PLAINES, Ill. — Industry veteran Alan Cole has resigned as president and CEO of upholstery maker and importer Schnadig Corp.
Cole said that he was leaving the midpriced furniture resource to attend to family health issues and might return to the industry in the spring.
Schnadig Chairman Don Belgrad will resume his former duties as president and CEO.
Cole joined Schnadig as chief operating officers in March 2004 and was named CEO just over a year ago.
In his 30-year career, Cole previously served as president and CEO of now-defunct LifeStyle Furniture International, and led the divesture of the corporation’s operating units. Before that, he was president and CEO at Berkline, and vice president and general manager of upholstery operations at Broyhill.
