Dubuque, Iowa — Longtime Flexsteel executive Ronald Klosterman will succeed Bruce Lauritsen as CEO of the upholstery producer and furniture importer on Dec. 31.
Klosterman, who has been with Flexsteel since 1972, currently is president and chief operating officer.
The company said Lauritsen will remain as vice chairman of the board and chairman of its executive committee.
"Flexsteel is fortunate to have an executive of the caliber of Ron Klosterman to succeed Bruce as chief executive officer," said Chairman L. Bruce Boylen. "He has been entrenched in every aspect of Flexsteel's operations, including finance, manufacturing and marketing."
Klosterman began his Flexsteel career as a staff accountant, and later was named manager of its Dublin, Ga., factory.
He also was treasurer and chief financial officer before his promotion to president.
Lauritsen joined Flexsteel in 1968 as a sales representative and has held a variety of sales and senior management posts, including national sales manager, chief operating officer and president.
"I'd like to thank Bruce for his 38 years of leadership and his demonstrated ability to see the company through the global changes and challenges in recent years," Boylen said. "His passion for the company and all of its employees will continue to inspire all of us."
