Lamar elected UFA vice president

Thomasville, N.C. — Whitewood Inds. executive Bob Lamar has been elected vice president of the Unfinished Furniture Assn. for the 2006–2007 year.
UFA is an international trade group of more than 450 retailers, manufacturers and sales representatives in the United States, Canada and the Bahamas that supports the unfinished furniture industry through education and awareness programs.
Lamar is vice president of operations for Whitewood, which is based in Thomasville. Its finished-wood dining division is called John Thomas.
Other elected board members are Randy Sain, Bare Wood Furniture, president; Pete Gstalder, Archbold Furniture, treasurer; and Fred Moriarty, Creative Woods, secretary.
New regional directors of the association are Scott Evans, Rocky Butte Mfg.; Cindy Zimmerman, Woodcraft Inds.; Steve Cavanaugh, Country Woods; and Mark Krangenbring, All-Wood Products & Sales. Standing regional directors are Kevin Lauck, Finishing Touch Enterprises; Bobbie Korneder, Kimball & Co.; Steve Kammann, Jackson's Unfinished Furniture; and Brandon Mardossian, The Sawmill.
"The new board will play a pivotal role in accomplishing our goals for 2007," said Sain, "which include a national sponsorship with PBS, a ground-breaking convention, and a nationwide industry marketing campaign that promotes 'Real Wood Furniture Finished Your Way'."
