Elder-Beerman furniture store in Ohio to close next month
Parent company Bon-Ton says other stores serve Dayton market

YORK, Pa. —The Bon-Ton Stores will close an Elder-Beerman Furniture Gallery in Trotwood, Ohio, in early December.
Bon-Ton acquired the Dayton, Ohio-area store in 2003 as part of its Elder-Beerman acquisition.
The department store company also said it will convert furniture square footage at a nearby Elder-Beerman to a furniture clearance center, scheduled to open in mid-December.
Bud Bergren, Bon-Ton president and CEO, said the company remains committed to the Dayton market with a furniture assortment at its South Towne Furniture Gallery and Beavercreek Furniture Gallery in the area as well as the planned clearance department.
York, Pa.-based Bon-Ton operates 279 stores, including 12 furniture galleries, in 23 states under the names Bon-Ton, Bergner's, Boston Store, Carson Pirie Scott, Elder-Beerman, Herberger's, Younkers and Parisian.
