Online retailer Wholesale Furniture Brokers acquires FollowFunction.com

Companies are combining operations but keeping separate sites

Larry Thomas -- Furniture Today, November 9, 2009

MIAMI — Wholesale Furniture Brokers, an online furniture retailer based here, has acquired FollowFunction.com, another online retailer that specializes in upscale, design-oriented furniture, lighting, kitchen accessories and toys.

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Matt Holmes, marketing manager for Wholesale Furniture, said FollowFunction's business operations are being merged into Wholesale Furniture, but the acquired company will maintain a separate niche Web site.

"FollowFunction.com has a solid foundation that will see improved traffic and sales from minor technical updates and integration into existing marketing strategies," Holmes said.

He said the company plans to add designer-inspired living room, bedroom and dining room furniture to the FollowFunction site, while the Wholesale Furniture site will soon list youth furniture currently carried by FollowFunction.

Wholesale Furniture Brokers was founded in Miami in 2001. FollowFunction.com was founded in 2005 in Kamloops, British Columbia.
