Alliance Sleep Products in new plant in Buffalo
Restonic licensee also adds two sales executives
David Perry -- Furniture Today, November 10, 2009
BUFFALO, N.Y. — Alliance Sleep Products, a key Restonic licensee based here, has moved into a new 60,000-square-foot factory on the edge of the city to support its growing dealer base.Tom Comer, president of the licensee, called the move "a bold investment in the future" and said it indicates that the Restonic brand is well positioned for growth.
"While these investments may appear bold in the present economy - and they are - a tough economy produces great opportunities for conservatively managed companies," he said. "We are taking full advantage of strategic opportunities for growth."
Comer did not reveal the size of the investments.
Along with the new plant, which replaces an older facility in the city, Alliance Sleep Products has added two senior-level bedding sales executives in the Northeast and the Southeast, where it has a licensee in Fayetteville, N.C.
Davis Odom is the new vice president of sales for Restonic's Southeastern region. He was formerly a regional sales manager with Spring Air and a key account representative and regional trainer with Serta. He also once owned a furniture store construction business in the Southeast.
In addition, the company hired Tom Hill as vice president of sales for Restonic's Northeastern region. He spent seven years with Sealy as a key account representative, territory manager, regional marketing and sales manager, and training manager. He also spent two years with Top 100 retailer Levin Furniture as marketing manager and bedding buyer.
Comer said that Restonic, which has launched a new brand identity and a new marketing campaign emphasizing the company's commitment to "Supporting Dreams," is avoiding issues affecting other bedding producers.
"As uncertainty swirls around our competitors, our re-energized Restonic brand remains a stable company, with strong relationships, compelling values and unequalled dealer responsiveness," he said.
