By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, November 9, 2009

Promotionally priced bedroom source Embassy International has hired Mike Harold as vice president of merchandising, a new position.

Harold has 30 years of retail experience, most recently as case goods buyer for Edmonton, Alberta-based The Brick for the past nine years.

"We are thrilled to have Mike on board," said company CEO Jack Wurster. Harold reports to Wurster.

Embassy International also announced that it was named as a 2009 Dallas 100 Entrepreneur at an awards ceremony hosted by the Caruth Institute for Entrepreneurship at Southern Methodist University's Cox School of Business.

Embassy ranked No. 21 on this year's list.

To qualify, a company must be an independent, privately held corporation, be based in the Dallas area and have annual sales of more than $500,000 and less than $75 million.

It also must have three years of sales growth and a satisfactory character and credit report.
