A native of Istanbul, Turkey, and a longtime resident of High Point, Arslan has been De Leo's director of business development since 2002. He continues to report to Craig De Leo, CEO and chief financial officer of the company, and Edward B. De Leo, president and founder.
Cathy Smith, director of design and merchandising, also will expand her duties to include support of sales reps and contact with customers.
De Leo Textiles imports fabric from several Turkish mills, and Arslan has worked in sourcing, logistics arrangement and liaison with the mills.
"Ismail's years of experience with De Leo have made him a valuable asset in the growth of our organization and we look forward to promising future growth as the new year approaches," said Craig De Leo. "The De Leo team in High Point, which includes Ismail and Cathy, will increase our responsiveness to customers and support our commitment to leading the industry in high-style design and quality fabrics."
Arslan is a board member of the International Textile Market Assn. and is involved in the Piedmont Triad Council for International Visitors, as well as Bridge to Turkiye, a charitable organization of Turkish Americans in support of children and educational opportunities.
