Hundreds ride to honor Sealy's David Sherman
Event encourages cycling safety awareness

HIGH POINT — More than 600 cyclists gathered here Sunday to ride in honor of David Sherman, the Sealy vice president who died in a hit-and-run accident in October, the Greensboro, N.C., News & Record reported.Goals of the "Today We Ride for Dave" event were to bring awareness to motorists and cyclists to promote cycling safety, and to see that the law was carried out in the case of a driver arrested in Sherman's death and charged with felony hit and run, among other counts.
Cyclists also were asked to donate to Yield to Life, a nonprofit advocacy group devoted to creating a safer environment for cyclists.
