Metropolitan Home closing
By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, November 16, 2009
NEW YORK — Shelter magazine Metropolitan Home, part of Hachette Filipacchi Media U.S., will stop publishing after its December issue, the company announced.
The publication was part of Hachette's Luxury Design Group, which said in a press release that it will now focus on its other upscale shelter magazine, Elle Decor, whose U.S. advertising is stronger.
As a result of the closure, Elle Decor will become a part of the Elle Group.
Case goods source Shermag, which formerly had a licensed Metropolitan Home furniture line, cancelled its contract with the publication earlier this year.
