HIGH POINT — The International Home Furnishings Representatives Assn. has redesigned its membership pin to celebrate its 75th anniversary.

These new 75th anniversary pins will replace the round silver lapel pins introduced in 2006. New pins will be mailed to IHFRA members with their 2010 renewal packages.
IHFRA was founded in January 1934 as the National Wholesale Furniture Salemen's Assn with a small office in the American Furniture Market in Chicago. In February 1967, the name was changed to National Home Furnishings Representatives Assn. With the addition of a chapter in Canada, the association's name was again changed in 1973 to the International Home Furnishings Representatives Assn.
In October 1987, IHFRA opened a new headquarters in High Point prompted by the increased number of sales representatives attending the Southern Furniture Market. IHFRA executives expected that the move would enable the association to interact more efficiently with furniture manufacturer and retail groups.
