HIGH POINT — David and Allison Jordan-Knox of Vancouver, British Columbia-based Jordans Interiors were the grand prize winners of an international contest celebrating the 500-year-old Althorp Estate in Northamptonshire, England.

The estate, the ancestral home of the Spencer family and the childhood home of the late Princess Diana, is the inspiration for the Althorp Living History collection by Theodore Alexander.

The contest was based on sales and display activity by Althorp collection dealers. The Jordan-Knoxes' grand prize included the trip to England, a guided tour of the estate, and a lunch service by the personal chef of Charles, 9th Earl Spencer. The couple stayed two nights at a London boutique hotel and two nights at a country house and hotel.

"As we celebrate our 80th year of business at Jordans, this trip was an extra special treat for us," David Jordan-Knox said in a statement. "It was a wonderful opportunity to be able to wander through this beautiful historical home, see the actual furnishings in their original settings, and recognize pieces we have sold in the past. Many people in western Canada have a great appreciation and respect for English period and traditional furnishings, and the pieces in the Althorp Living History collection have great relevance and meaning."

Theodore Alexander CEO Harvey Dondero praised Jordans Interiors' display of the collection, which has grown to include 450 pieces that are available in more than 150 stores around the world.
