MORGANTON, N.C. - High-end upholstery and case goods resource Ferguson Copeland has enlisted the talents of three top industry designers to provide direction for its Ferguson Copeland and Guy Chaddock furniture lines.

Independent designers David Easton and Larry Laslo will work with David Hinckley, who is on the company's staff.

Along with work for residential clients, Easton has designed product for companies including Henredon, Lee Jofa, Walters Wicker, Beauvais Carpets and Robert Abbey lighting.

Laslo has long been associated with Ferguson Copeland, and also has designed furniture for Kravet, lighting for Frederick Cooper, and the interiors for Bergdorf-Goodman's store on New York's Fifth Avenue store.

Hinckley was a longtime designer with case goods manufacturer Guy Chaddock before it was acquired by Ferguson Copeland in 2003. Last year, he joined the company as a designer for Guy Chaddock. He will now work with Easton and Hinckley on product design for both Guy Chaddock and Ferguson Copeland.

Until recently, product design largely was handled by Ferguson Copeland Chairman Darrell Ferguson. Ferguson will still be involved in design, said company President and CEO Gordon Guyon. But Guyon said that it makes sense to have others involved in the process as well.

"It brings more sensibility to the company," Guyon said. "It's a better way in that we are not locked into one look. We get fresher and a lot more thinking."

The designers also will work with Peggy Norris, who continues to oversee showroom development and design.
