Barry Tatelman to leave Jordan's for Hollywood
Plans to produce play, TV series

BOSTON — Barry Tatelman, who with his brother Eliot, has become a pop-culture icon in New England for the quirky advertising they do for Jordan’s Furniture, is leaving the retailer to pursue a show business career.
According to media accounts, Tatelman plans to produce a Broadway play and a television series.
The brothers, third generation leaders of the popular store chain now owned by Berkshire Hathaway, are known for their gentle spoofing of national or international advertising campaigns such as The Gap, and for turning their stores into fun destinations with major attractions, including a Jelly Belly theme, IMAX theatres, and a trapeze school.
Eliot Tatelman was quoted in the MetroWest Daily News as saying his brother is a “frustrated actor” who also likes a play a lot of golf.
