NAPLES, Fla.- E-commerce, which generated $231 billion in sales for U.S. retailers last year, is expected to increase 13% to $262 billion this year, reaching $370 billion in sales by 2017.
The channel's continued growth - and continued impact on brick and mortar home furnishings retailers - will be discussed during one of the highlight sessions at Furniture/Today's upcoming Leadership Conference here.
The conference is set for Dec. 3-5 at the Ritz Carlton Beach Resort.
To explore this topic, Furniture/Today has arranged to have leading online experts, including Mike O'Hanlon of Wayfair, Kecia Hielscher of Hautelook.com (Nordstrom's online company), Lenny Kharitonov of Unlimited Furniture Group and Carl Prindle of Furniturefirst.com talk about their models and why and how they continue to win.
"The last three Leadership Conferences have sold out and we are expecting capacity crowds again this year," said Ray Allegrezza, Furniture/Today's editor-in-chief.
"The combination of exceptional speakers talking about the industry's most important issues has made this the must-attend industry event," Allegrezza said. "And this year's agenda has got multiple powerhouse presenters, including Dr. Nido Qubein, president of High Point University, Kim Yost, CEO of Art Van, noted designers Angelo Surmelis and Bobby Berk, Mark Vitner, director and senior economist from Wells Fargo, and many more."
