By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, December 31, 2006
High Point — Art & Frame Direct, a marketer of antique reproductions and decorative accessories, has begun construction of a new showroom here on the former Casa Bique property at North Hamilton Street and Kivett Drive.
The new facility, which should be completed in time for the spring market, will encompass 22,894 square feet. It will adjoin an existing building that once housed Casa Bique, giving Art & Frame approximately 37,000 square feet of showroom space.
Samet Corp., a general contractor and real estate developer based in Greensboro, N.C., is overseeing the project, which is part of the first phase of the proposed Pavilion on Hamilton showroom complex.
A spokesman for Samet said the company is talking with several prospective exhibitors about the remaining lots in the development.
