Gingrich replaces Giles at Powell

Culver City, Calif. — Powell Co. has named David Gingrich, a veteran of over 25 years in the home décor and accent furniture industry, vice president of sales for its mass merchants channel.
Before joining the importer, he was president of Sycamore Art Works and president and CEO of Masterworks Décor. Earlier, he was in senior management at The Cluett Corp., Home Fashions Inc. and Intercraft Inds.
Gingrich, who reports to Bill Benton, president and CEO, replaces David Giles Sr., who is retiring after more than 20 years at Powell.
"I am very pleased with the addition of David to the Powell senior management team," said Benton. "He brings many years of diversified experience in the mass distribution channel in sales, product development, sourcing and executive management."
Giles, who worked with mass merchants and large furniture stores, will remain with the company during a transition period through the end of January.
"David has been an incredible employee and a terrific friend," said Powell Chairman Rick Powell. "He has been a major contributor to Powell's growth and success during these years."
