HIGH POINT - Showtime, the semiannual fabric trade show here, is set for June 2-5 and the International Textile Market Assn. has announced several events that will take place during the market.
Social events include:
Sunday, June 2
International Market Centers will host the International Pavilion at Showtime at 4 p.m. in the Suites at Market Square. New companies from India, Taiwan and China will be welcomed.
A Runway Fashion Show will take place from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Suites at Market Square. Models will appear on the catwalk in fashions created from the latest articles introduced by participating companies. Outfits and choreography will be produced by the Threads department at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Participating sponsors include DeLeo Textiles, Glen Raven Custom Fabrics-Sunbrella, High 5, Home Secrets, Keystone Weaving Mills, P/Kaufmann Fabrics and Valdese Weavers.
International Market Centers also will sponsor Suite Libations each afternoon during Showtime, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the Suites at Market Square.
Several educational events also are scheduled. All will take place on the top floor of the Suites at Market Square, 1-200/1- 300 aisles.
Monday, June 3
■ 7-8 a.m., breakfast at Showtime featuring a panel of industry representatives discussing Made in USA. RSVP to the ITMA's Catherine Morsell at firstname.lastname@example.org.
■ 8:30 a.m., presentation on U.S. Market Trends and Color Direction for 2013-2014, hosted by Furniture/Today and Home Textiles Today.
■ 10 a.m., Inspirations for Swarovski Elements: Spring/Summer 2014, presented by Jane Matteson.
■ Noon, Collective color trend overview, presented by Cathy Valent of CeCe Design Group.
■ 2 p.m., Pinterest, the New Retail Therapy, presented by Web- 4retail. Sev Ritchie and Denise Keniston will discuss the role of Internet marketing and social media in the retail process.
Tuesday, June 4
■ Noon, repeat of Pinterest, the New Retail Therapy presentation.
■ 2 p.m., repeat of Inspirations for Swarovski Elements: Spring/Summer 2014 presentation.
