Industry veteran Shannon Marie Kennedy dies at 55

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Shannon Marie Kennedy, an industry veteran who most recently was director of marketing for the High Point Market Authority, has died after a fight against cancer. She was 55.
Before joining the Market Authority, Kennedy held posts at companies including Furniture/Today and the High Point Enterprise.
She was active in Susan G. Komen Northwest North Carolina, raising funds for breast cancer research. She was a passionate fan of Notre Dame and the University of Alabama and loved to travel, particularly to Italy.
She is survived by her daughter, her father, five sisters, a brother, and nieces and nephews.
A memorial mass is scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday, May 31, in the St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, 333 Springdale Ave., Winston-Salem, N.C. 27104.
Memorial donations may be made at any Wells Fargo Bank branch for her daughter, Erin. The name on the account is the Shannon Marie Kennedy Donation Fund.
