SECAUCUS, N.J. — Cory Home Delivery says it has established a Women@Cory initiative to ensure professional development and growth opportunities for women, and also announced the promotion of two women to key posts.
The specialized carrier said the program ensures that advancement for women is integral to talent development efforts.
"It is vital to provide a means to recognize and support women today, particularly in a male-dominated industry and in an expansive company with outlying locations nationwide," said Cory CEO Patrick Cory. "We are happy to announce the promotion of several women within the company, including Johanna Soto, recently named vice president of human resources, and Malathi Palaniappa has been promoted to director of MIS."
Soto previously was director of human resources and Palaniappa was a business analyst/ program manager.
The company said the Women@Cory program recognizes managers who develop and promote female team members, and also supports young women in local communities. Group leaders recently collaborated with Leading Ladies, a nonprofit New Jersey mentoring program that connects volunteers and young, at-risk women. In a roundtable discussion, Soto and members of her team shared their experiences and offered career guidance to women in attendance.
