MONROE, Mich. — La-Z-Boy has launched its first line of outdoor furniture, including what it says is the first fully functional recliner for outdoor use, under a licensing agreement with Brown Jordan International.
Brown Jordan will design, manufacture and market the collection under the La-Z-Boy Outdoor brand.
La-Z-Boy and Brown Jordan have partnered to launch a line of casual furniture.
The line offers sofas, recliners, lounge chairs, adjustable chaises, double chaises, ottomans, dining tables, side tables, umbrellas and storage units. It is debuting this week at Sam’s Clubs in the United States, Mexico and online, and will be expanded to other retailers in the future.
“The recent shift toward outdoor comfort in the furniture market made this partnership very timely,” said Chris Carmicle, president of Brown Jordan’s national accounts and direct imports division. He called the partnership “a unique offering that will help our customers further grow their business.”
A Web site for the new line, www.lazyboyoutdoor.com, describes three collections: Whitley (modern), Graham (contemporary) and Alexander (flared legs).
The outdoor furniture has all-weather, rattan-look resin weave construction on rustproof aluminum frames, with decorative cast-aluminum ends on arms and feet. The back and seat cushions are covered in Richloom’s Solarium all-weather fabric.
A six-piece dining set (four chairs, table, umbrella) retails at $950, according to the Web site.
