TOPEKA, Kan. — Kansas native Ed Asner's desk and chair from "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" will be among the pieces on display in a new Furnishing Kansas exhibit at the Kansas Museum of History here, according to the museum.
The exhibit will open March 15 and run through Sept. 22.
Spanning from Kansas Territory days to the recent past, other items to be shown include products from Abernathy Bros. Furniture, a Leavenworth, Kan., factory established in 1856, and several items used the state's governors, including a table made for one chief executive by a penitentiary prisoner.
One-of-a-kind items on display will include furniture by craftspeople working in materials as diverse as cattle horns and scrap lumber.
