Market Authority, IHFC team up on guides

High Point — The High Point Market Authority, which published a market directory aimed at first-time visitors and smaller retail stores last fall, has formed a partnership with the International Home Furnishings Center to publish all of the market's official directories and guides.

Under terms of partnership, the IHFC will continue to produce the directories, but the Market Authority will have more control over their content.

That means, for example, that all market exhibitors and all multi-tenant buildings will be included in the directory listings even if they are not directory advertisers, said Market Authority Casey.

"This series of directories — the official publications of market — will be meant to serve as the most complete, user-friendly guides to the market," said Casey. "Our goal is to include everyone and every event, and for the information contained in the guides to mirror the market's Web site."

The publications consist of three market Preview Guides published prior to each market, as well as the spiral-bound Resource Guide and Pocket Guide that are distributed at market. In addition, the Insiders Guide to Market, the directory published by the Market Authority in October, will now be produced by the IHFC as part of the partnership agreement.

"Our entire team is excited about this new direction and the opportunity to take the market publications to the next level," said IHFC President Tom Lindh. "We're pleased to be collaborating with the Market Authority on this important project."
