WG&R to open Furniture Plus store in Wisconsin Rapids

WISCONSIN RAPIDS, Wis. — WG&R Furniture plans to open a store next month in a 20,000-square-foot space in a former supermarket, a Wausau Daily Herald story reported earlier this week.

The store will likely be under the name Furniture Plus, a division of Green Bay-based WG&R that opened its first location in Wausau in October, the story said.

It added that WG&R has stores in Appleton, Fond du Lac, Green Bay, Manitowoc, Oshkosh and Sheboygan, a mattress factory and retail outlet in Two Rivers, and mattress specialty stores under the name WG&R Sleep Shops in Appleton, Fond du Lac, Grand Chute and Green Bay.

The privately owned WG&R has been listed in past years among "stores to watch" on Furniture/Today's annual ranking of Top 100 U.S. Furniture Stores.
