In occasional furniture:

  • Bryant Park is a living room group that features new clean-lined occasional pieces, including a coffee table and an end table. The tables sport walnut veneers in a satinwood finish.

  • Barclay is also a clean lined group that includes a coffee table and an end table. The tables have walnut veneers with a satinwood finish.

In upholstery:

  • Adding the Barclay and Bryant Park groups to its imported Park Avenue collection, offering clean, classic, exposed-wood looks in sofas ($2,499), loveseats and chairs.

Both groups feature hardwood oak frames, with walnut veneer in a satin finish.

In entertainment:

  • Expanding its popular Park Avenue collection with the new Whitehall Series of entertainment pieces. At $999, the series includes a TV console and three cabinets.

Marketing: Will offer special discounts for orders placed at market.

News: Added to its inside sales force to accommodate U.S. demand. Also have a new Web site and new lifestyle and product shots for all of Park Avenue.

  • Vienna, classic Biedermeier scaled to be space-friendly and more affordable than some of its other lines; birch solids and primavera woods and burls used with a duo-tone Truffle Medley finish; panel bed has Dark Chocolate posts and burl panels with inlaid veneers; step-front dresser has tri-panel mirror; dining set mixes formal and relaxed through design and scale; has step-front china with Biedermeier post accents.

  • Savoy collection. Country French in elm solids and oak veneers in Toast finish; smaller scaled but doesn't compromise the Michael Amini look and value; bed features ornate carvings and arched headboard, dresser and mirror have cabriole-shaped sides and carvings.   • Venetian, 41-piece collection with an Italian Renaissance influence, new finish called Starry Night is a black rub-through with crackle effect; new mansion bed, dining table with beveled glass inserts, accents and mesh in brass. A "convergence" entertainment wall marries style with today's technological demands.

In upholstery:

  • A sofa, settee, chaise lounge and accent chairs in richly colored fabrics, beaded and fringed accent pillows and hand-carved detailing will be part of the Palais Royale collection, reminiscent of French Rococo styling.

  • The upholstery counterpart to the wood introduction of the 41-piece Venetian collection. Features an Italian Renaissance influence with rich fabrics and accents of wood, tassels, fringes, braids and beads for a designer look.

  • In addition, upholstery collections will be introduced to correlate with the Windsor Court and Villa Valencia case goods introduced last year. Windsor Court upholstery, influenced by the English countryside, will hit a more popular price point, with all- hardwood frames, FeatherBlend cushions and eight-way hand-tied coil springs. Villa Valencia upholstery reflects the grandeur of Old Spain, with rich fabrics, trims and pillows. The group will include six pieces.

  • Salem, a contemporary, four-piece casual dining collection, includes a two-tone, counter-height leather banquette. $999.

  • Lighthouse Point is a seven-piece casual dining collection in cottage styling. In two finishes, linen and sea foam. The collection is based around a recipe center with full pantry storage. $399 to $899.

Arin International

Strategy: Introduction of reclaimed pine, handmade and hand-finished. High perceived value will allow for margins that retailers need.

  • New Dupont sectional groups are an expansion of the company's urban lifestyle theme for younger consumers and empty nesters. All available in taupe grey or sand beige microfiber.

  • Bermuda, buffet and table with chocolate travertine top and pecan wood base; table is $1,600, buffet $1,500.

  • Young Classic, bedroom gets new secretary with 18th-century look and today's conveniences like cord management and storage for files and a printer.

  • Combining 21st century living with technology in a new concept called LIV 360, which integrates leather upholstery and occasional pieces to "take the home office out of the spare bedroom and bring it into the family room." The concept maximizes storage drawers, adjustable work surfaces, cord management and paper storage. Leather seating has been integrated into the program with Interface, a transitional sofa frame, and Apollo, a contemporary look.

  • Prescott, a PushPower motorized seating group, includes sectional, sofa, loveseat and club chair, featuring modified pub pillowback style with high back silhouette.

  • Cape Cod includes a four piece occasional group with white bases and cherry tops to complement the existing 2.0 home entertainment group.

  • Chambord has six occasional pieces, including a drop-leaf console table, cocktail table, end table, lamp table, chair-side table and sofa table. This group has a warm cherry finish with aged pewter hardware.

  • Also, expanding its 4 Seasons collection with the Bayside entertainment group. The new pieces blend contemporary and traditional styling and are suitable for most flat-screen TVs.

Bailey Street

  • New items include a Louis XV-inspired chair and ottoman with spring-colored fabric reminiscent of Renoir's garden. The frames come in a fruitwood finish and retail for $525 and $245, respectively.

  • The Lido oval mirrored-top table features MDF and plantation hardwoods and has a silver leaf/gun metal washed finish and retails for $195.

  • The Darius table has an adjustable top that allows the piece to be used as a writing desk or as a full dining table. It comes in a dark zebrano finish and retails for $695.

Bassett Mirror

  • Vantana, Arts & Crafts inspiration in wormy cherry veneers, warm reddish brown finish and metal accents; raised drawer fronts, gathering-height storage table and antiqued hardware; queen panel bed is $600, king panel $800.

  • Dorsey, dining group balances casual styling and practical functionality; leather and microfiber upholstery; quartered primavera and ash veneers on rubberwood solids; in traditional and counter heights; reeding and nailhead trim, optional black granite top for sideboard.

  • Alexandra, Scandinavian youth group with feminine details; distressed cream finish with light green accents, metal motifs on desk, panel bed has cane inserts; designed to grow with child from preschool to teen; tall dresser with oval mirror is $940.

  • Danbury Square, a whole-home collection featuring oak veneers in a warm brown finish; features strong traditional styling, raised drawer fronts, metal accents and antiqued hardware; includes bedroom suite, occasional and dining; gathering table is 36 by 54 extending to 54 by 54 at counter height.

  • The new Intermezzo entertainment center features transitional styling and is made of hardwood and cherry veneers. Matching occasional tables are available.

Strategy: Case goods feature several quality standards put in place October 2005 such as English dovetailed drawers, wood-on-wood drawer guides, sanded and fully finished drawer interiors, cedar-lined bottom drawer, felt-lined top drawer with jewelry tray, dust-proofing and screwed-on back panels. Also, the company is launching a new home accents program called Broyhill Home Solutions.

Butler Specialty

In case goods, featuring two new groups in solids and veneers for the Chicago Bedroom division begun in April 2006:

  • Lake Shore Drive, sleek and urban, vertical cathedral-grain cherry veneers with crisscrossed maple inlays over poplar solids; merlot and amber finishes.

  • Millenium Park, crisp lines and sweeping curves, oak solids and olive ash burl veneers, Chestnut Burl finish.

In occasional:

  • The Masterpiece collection includes a pedestal table that is made from cherry veneers and hardwood solids. It has a distressed finish and retails for $199. A cocktail table with an X base has an olive ash burl finish and retails for $399. A drum table made with cherry, walnut and olive ash burl veneers on the sides and door and cherry and olive ash burl veneers on the top retails for $499.

  • Artists' Originals features a two-tone, French country-inspired console table with a double stretcher base. It has a hand-painted café noire finish on selected hardwood solids and veneers and retails for $799. Other pieces include a console chest made from selected hardwood solids and a pine top. It has a pine and cream finish and retails for $599.

  • Gramercy is a group of braided rugs designed as a companion to the hand-tufted Kaimuri collection. Wool. Made in North Carolina. $379 in 5 by 8.

  • The Granville collection features a hard-twist look in a braid construction. Variegated look is achieved through of a blend of wool, nylon and other fibers. The group is made in North Carolina. $299 in 5 by 8 oval.

  • The Hartwell collection coordinates with select Colonial Williamsburg fabrics and bedding. Braided of cotton and polyester. $310 in 5 by 8 oval.

  • Transitions is a braid collection offering a tonal look with a double chenille border in a rectangular shape.Braided of cotton and polyester. $399 for 5 by 9 rectangle.

  • Escape is a Capel Anywhere collection. Made of 100% polypropyelene, this braided rug can be used indoors or out. Made in North Carolina. $259 in 5 by 8.

  • Fresh Air is a new Capel Anywhere indoor/outdoor collection. Machine woven with cut-pile construction, Fresh Air has the look and feel of an indoor rug. Wilton woven in the United States of 100% polypropylene. $259 in 5′3″ by 7′6.″

  • Del Cabo is a Dhurrie collection, hand loomed in India. Wool. $299 in 5 by 8.

  • A group of Bambooze accessories such as accent rugs, chair pads, trivets, rug slices, heart rugs, stair treads, utility baskets, placemats, waste baskets and table runners also will be introduced.

Both categories, launched at the October market, are stocked in Taylorsville, N.C., and can be shipped along with its domestically made custom stationary fabric upholstery.
