Monroe, Mich. — Major upholstery and case goods maker and importer La-Z-Boy, based here, has opened a new dedicated store in Georgia, and renovated and reopened two others in Louisiana and California.
Buford, Ga., is home to a new La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries store at 1855 Mall of Georgia Boulevard. The 18,362-square-foot unit is co-owned by Tom DeGoey, Bob Breunig and Ed Breunig III.
The reopened La-Z-Boy store in Harvey, La., is at 3815 Lapalco. It was damaged in Hurricane Katrina, and was renovated to incorporate the company's New Generation format. The 13,500-square-foot store is owned by Larry Marquez.
The Harvey store is one of three La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries in the New Orleans area. Another, in Metairie, was recently renovated, and the third, in Covington, is scheduled to be renovated this year.
Also renovated and reopened is the La-Z-Boy store in Pleasant Hill, Calif. The 13,000-square-foot unit is on Contra Costa Boulevard. It also now incorporates the New Generation format.
Don Kvingedal is owner of the store, along with the six other La-Z-Boy stores in the San Francisco Bay area.
