Leo Francis Burke, Richmond furniture retailer

Richmond, Va. — Leo Francis Burke, owner of retailer Leo Burke Furniture here, has died of complications from Parkinson's disease and pancreatic cancer. He was 85.
After serving in the Army Air Corps during World War II, he worked for furniture retailers in Richmond, including Haverty's and Kenneth Lord.
Burke opened his own store in 1958 on West Cary Street. Never officially retiring from the business, he went to the store every day. His son, Jack Burke, is president of the company.
He is survived by his wife, three sons and eight grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Father Adrian Harmening Scholarship Fund at Benedictine High School, 300 N. Sheppard St., Richmond, Va. 23221.
