Sit 'n Sleep helps Marines gather toys
By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, January 14, 2007
Gardena, Calif. — Bedding retailer Sit 'n Sleep supported the Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program last month by offering to pay the sales tax on mattress purchases for any shoppers donating toys.
Shoppers could bring unwrapped toys to any Sit 'n Sleep store. The Marine Corps Reserve, in turn, donated them to needy children.
"Giving back to the community has always been important for the Sit 'n Sleep family," said Larry Miller, the retailer's president and founder. "The holiday season can be a very stressful time of year, especially for those less fortunate."
