Safavieh to unveil Martha Stewart rugs in Atlanta

Atlanta — Safavieh will unveil the first wave of its Martha Stewart Area Rugs collection on Friday, Jan. 19, during the Atlanta International Rug Market.
The company will show the line in private presentation in its showroom at 6 p.m., followed by a reception at 7 p.m. in the Capital City Club.
Martha Stewart is expected to attend both events.
The collection includes four categories and 32 designs. Each rug was inspired by Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia's archive of ideas and patterns as well as Stewart's personal antique area rug collection.
Rugs were created by the MSLO design team with Stewart's guidance.
Hand-made and power-loomed offerings in a range of sizes and styles will be available at retail in the spring.
Stewart's company licenses a variety of home products, including a furniture line at Bernhardt.
The Safavieh collection is not Stewart's first venture into floor coverings.
A few years ago, her company and Shaw Inds. had a licensing arrangement that included carpeting, rugs, wood floors and hard surface flooring.
