Thomasville, N.C. — Lexington Home Brands has named Cheminne Taylor-Smith to the newly created post of director of marketing and communications, effective immediately.
Most recently, Taylor-Smith was editor-in-chief of InFurniture Magazine, which was acquired in January by a competing trade magazine, Home Furnishings Business.
She reports to Phil Haney, president and CEO of Lexington, an affiliate of Sun Capital Partners.
"Cheminne Taylor-Smith has a well-known name and a long history within the home furnishings industry," Haney said. "Her experience in the media, retail and consumer sectors will be invaluable as Lexington Home Brands moves forward with its dynamic plans for the future."
Taylor-Smith has been in trade publishing for 20 years. Before joining InFurniture she held editorial posts at Furniture/Today, Home Accents Today, Casual Living and BedTimes.
Lexington has made several key hires since Haney joined the company in early September.
They include Katrina Patton, vice president of product development; Bob Choppa, vice president and general manager of upholstery; and Robert Sitler, vice president of global sourcing.
