Parrish launching photo studio

High Point — Interior design and photography consultant Diana Parrish is launching a photography studio near the heart of the furniture market area here.
Diana Parrish Design and Photography is in a new building at 905 W. Market Center Drive. She is the sole owner.
"This is a move I contemplated for years and a decision that many of my clients, business associates and friends have been urging me to make," she said.
An interior design and marketing consultant to many top furniture brands, Parrish said the time is right for a studio that caters to clients looking for more comprehensive services with an emphasis on design as well as excellent photography.
"This area already has several capable studios that can capture images, but I know for certain that many companies crave more in-depth support — in particular, consultative services that contribute to their marketing efforts," she said.
Parrish said her aggressive business plan doesn't allow for a gradual learning curve.
"We have to hit the street running because we have immediate commitments and specific growth expectations," she said.
For those reasons, she said, DPDP recruited a team with extensive studio and location photography experience. Fran Marshall will manage interior design, David Hill will direct photography and construction/set-up operations will be handled by Robbie and Ritchie Peace and Tim Smith.
In various roles, Parrish has been connected to photo studios since she earned her degree in interior design from the New York School of Interior Design. She began her set design career and later became studio manager for Hicks Studio and Mayfield Studio in Hickory, N.N., before joining Broyhill Furniture as advertising director in 1993.
She joined Thomasville Furniture in 1995 and subsequently became advertising/marketing creative director. In 2001, she began her consulting business, and for five years worked largely for Thomasville, but also consulted for Henredon, Broyhill, MasterBrand Cabinets, Progress Lighting and The Home Depot.
Parrish said the average experience of the DPDP team members is 15 years.
"I am privileged and excited to be starting this business with professionals in each area of studio operations who already have accomplished so much in their careers," she said. "Our clients not only will benefit from this cumulative experience, but will enjoy the careful attention they receive."
