Primo Designs taps Banister
By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, February 4, 2007
High Point — Case goods importer Primo Designs has hired industry veteran David Banister as president and chief sales officer.
David Ballard, who has been president for the past six years, was promoted to chief operating officer.
Banister has been vice president of sales at Lexington Home Brands for two years. Before that, he was at Broyhill for 14 years in a variety of sales roles, including senior vice president of sales.
At Primo Designs, he will largely oversee sales efforts, including the opening of new accounts. Previously, Ballard handled that role in addition to HIS other duties.
The change frees Ballard to focus more on product development, production management and logistics management. He said the change will help the company grow its East Coast sales, particularly in Florida, the Carolinas and Virginia.
He added that he will consult with Banister on product development.
"We are fortunate to have a seasoned executive like Banister join our team, with his numerous friends and industry contacts, as we take our company in new directions reflecting the incredible changes we are seeing every day in this business," Ballard said.
