Minneapolis — Upscale retailer Gabberts has promoted Rebecca Miller, a former consultant and Target Corp. manager, to president, relieving Chairman Jim Gabbert of more day-to-day duties.
Miller, with over 25 years in executive, sales and consulting posts, joined Gabberts in January 2006 as vice president and general manager.
She now is responsible for "the strategy, vision and overall operations of Gabberts," the company said.
Miller was president and co-founder of consulting firm Imprint Strategies Group. Earlier, she was director of sales, national account team at Target.
She also was an executive at Jostens, which sells school rings, yearbooks and other goods, and at Right Management Consultants, now Manpower, a human resources consulting firm.
Jim Gabbert credited Miller with leading the retailer "through an ambitious transformation, including overseeing the development of the new Gabberts store," a redesign to be unveiled Feb. 15.
"She is an accomplished and experienced leader who shares my vision for value and quality in both unique product offerings and how we serve our customers," he said.
Earlier, Gabberts name Mike Knight CEO. He is the former president of Alliance Management, which Gabberts hired in 2005 to help develop its turnaround strategy.
Miller reports to Knight.
