Hans J. Wegner, acclaimed Danish designer

Copenhagen, Denmark — Hans J. Wegner, an internationally acclaimed furniture designer in Denmark for decades, has died. He was 92.

Wegner was known for his chair designs, including his breakthrough Round chair in 1949, which are credited with helping establish Denmark as a leader in modern furniture.

Many of his creations were manufactured by PP Mobler and Carl Hansen & Son.
