100 Angels urges support for children's hospital
By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, February 11, 2007
High Point — The 100 Angels Foundation, a furniture industry charity, is spearheading a project to encourage all segments of the home furnishings industry to support St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Sales representative Marty Libowsky, founder of 100 Angels, said Miskelly's Furniture in Jackson, Miss., was among the first to get on board. The retailer has a Ferris wheel at its store and has pledged to donate a percentage of all tickets sold for the Ferris wheel during 2007 to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
"We're asking all retailers, manufacturers, and individuals to become a Partner In Hope by donating $19 per month to the research hospital. They never turn any child away," Libowsky said. "Even if their family can't afford to pay for treatment, children with cancer can get this care because of monthly donors."
Partners In Hope receive monthly stories and photos of the children who are helped, a Portraits in Hope photo album, and quarterly newsletters featuring the latest St. Jude medical and research breakthroughs.
They also get an annual copy of the St. Jude calendar, featuring the art and stories of St. Jude patients, and a holiday card that can be signed and returned with personal messages of support for the patients.
For a brochure or more information about donating to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, contact Libowsky at the Powell or Progressive showrooms during High Point Market, or call him at (205) 368-4815 or e-mail mbigdaddy125@aol.com.
