FineLines opens in Virginia

By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, February 18, 2007

FineLines Furnishings, a boutique store specializing in designer items at value prices, has opened on Dorr Avenue here.

The 2,700-square-foot store, open on weekends and by appointment, is owned by Lauren Simmons.

"Interior decorating, shopping for good deals and a love of fine furniture led me to open the store," Simmons said. "I wanted a store where I would want to shop. My strategy is to carry high-end, unique items at prices well below retail."

FineLines features living room and dining room furniture from such resources as Vanguard, Julian Chichester and Hooker, along with Robert Abbey lamps, artwork, home décor items and gifts.

Simmons said she looks for unique items from vendors in North Carolina to the Far East. "My inventory is flexible," she said. "It won't get stale."

This is her first business venture. The store is near the Dunn Loring Metro station and a Home Depot store.
