Totowa, N.J. — Former Sealy executive Edward Kowalski has joined Precision Textiles as vice president of emerging markets. He will work in the company's fire-resistant materials business.
Kowalski was corporate vice president of product development and director of regulatory compliance at Sealy, where he played a key role in the company's development of fire-resistant bedding. Sealy was one of the first major bedding producers to broadly introduce FR bedding.
"Bringing Ed on board provides our customers with a great new resource," said Keith Martin, industrial business development manager. "With Ed's talents, we have put in place the final, unique piece of the puzzle for creating a start-to-finish process for walking mattress manufacturers through the selection, testing and production of Consumer Product Safety Commission FR-compliant beds. No other supplier can say the same."
The company's Precision Flame Protection line consists of fabrics developed to offer chemical-free options for mattress manufacturers looking to produce a luxurious, soft feel for their bedding, officials said.
