EQ3 opens large store in Virginia

Norfolk, Va. — Contemporary Canadian home furnishings resource EQ3 has opened one of its largest freestanding dealer-owned stores in the MacArthur Center shopping plaza here.
The 16,000-square-foot unit offers EQ3's entire line of furniture, bedding, lighting and accessories. It's the second EQ3 store for Larry Bloom, who opened his first in Richmond, Va., three years ago.
The Norfolk store, which had a soft opening in late December, is the first to reflect EQ3's new merchandising strategy. Three complete apartments created in the store feature lifestyle presentations.
"I love the designs and variety in the different collections," Bloom said. "EQ3 is helping fill the demand for affordable modern home furnishings.... (We have had) three successful years at our EQ3 store in Richmond."
EQ3 President Peter Tielmann said the globally sourced line "encourages individuals, couples and families to create their own unique lifestyle solution."
EQ3, an operating division of Winnipeg, Manitoba-based Palliser Group, was launched in 2001 and has stores in Canada and the United States, plus 300 in-store galleries in North and South America, Europe and Asia.
