Stanley promotes three

Jeff Linville -- Furniture Today, February 25, 2007

Case goods maker and importer Stanley Furniture has promoted Ray Harding Jr. to vice president of sales for Young America and Brad Miller to the new post of vice president of international sales and special markets.

The company also promoted Walt Rhea to director of inventory planning and logistics, from manager of inventory planning and logistics. He reports to Rick Lovorn, senior vice president of manufacturing.

Harding has been Young America sales manager since April. He worked for 13 years as a Stanley sales representative in the 1980s and early '90s, and was an owner/operator of three Badcock stores in western North Carolina.

Miller has been Stanley's director of international sales for the past two years. Earlier, he was an international account executive for Cone Mills and director of purchasing for Lackawanna Leather.

"Ray has been an integral part of implementing new processes in our Young America sales efforts," said Glenn Prillaman, senior vice president of sales and marketing for the Young America juvenile line and the adult Stanley Collections wood line. "Brad has successfully heightened our visibility in the foreign marketplace and extended our distribution network into other countries."

Harding and Miller report to Prillaman.

Two top executives, Phil Haney and Robert Sitler, left Stanley last year, and the company began rebuilding its management team, including the promotion of Prillaman to his new dual post. Kevin Bowman was hired as vice president of sales for Stanley Collections. He previously worked for Thomasville and spent 18 years in retail.
