Taylorsville, N.C. — Upholstery producer Craftmaster Furniture has hired two executives in finance and manufacturing.
Anderson Shih has been named vice president and chief financial officer of the company, a subsidiary of China-based Lacquer Craft. Previously, Shih was finance and administration manager for DRAMeMeXchange Inc., a provider of advisory services in the memory chip industry.
Roy Bearden has joined Craftmaster as vice president of manufacturing, with responsibility for operations at its two upholstery plants and a frame warehouse.
Most recently, Bearden acted as general manager in charge of manufacturing for upholstery producer Jackson/Catnapper. Earlier, he worked for England Home Furnishings and Levi Strauss.
Craftmaster President Roy Calcagne said Shih and Bearden will help the company achieve growth in 2007 and beyond.
Calcagne added, "We have had an extremely strong response to the October market introductions and the expansion of our product line to include stationary leather, leather recliners, an exposed-wood chair program and our new cut-and-sew fabric program. All of this, combined with the expanded sales territories and the new dealers we have added, will ultimately require the expansion of our manufacturing facilities."
