IN Home Furnishings to liquidate
By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, February 25, 2007
Springfield, Mass. — IN Home Furnishings here has hired The High Point Group to liquidate the business as its owner retires from the retail side of the industry.
The High Point Group, a division of Gordon Brothers Group, is running a retirement sale at the retailer's four stores in Danvers, Hyannis, Natick and Norwood, Mass., through mid-March or until all inventory is sold. HPG President Edward Borowsky would not say how much the sale is expected to generate.
The inventory includes an eclectic mix of furniture and accessories primarily imported from England and France. IN's major domestic upholstery suppliers are McCreary Modern and Cisco. No additional inventory is being brought in for the sale.
IN founder and owner Bob Darvin said after 41 years in retail, he wants to focus on his family and grandchildren, as well as launching a yet-to-be named home furnishings wholesaler. The business will specialize in sourcing European antiques and rare items from around the world.
